Taking the lead from the International convention held in July in Australia, this year’s Summer Camp in Italy took the theme of Inspiration.

It brought together 40 people of similar mind from Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Italy and of course, the UK. For a week we walked through the spectacular Dolomites, partook of the amazing, but stodgy, local South Tyrolean fare and shared stories and songs from our individual corners of the globe. Always present are the stalwart Italians from Florence and Naples who have been coming to this camp for all 15 years of its existence and are nothing if not persistent in the things of the Lord.

We stayed in a bucolic little town called Natz perched on a mountain overlooking a small regional city called Bressanone, about an hour from the Austrian border. Most of us stayed, perhaps for the final time, in the guesthouse ‘Unterplatter’, and the overflow in other accommodation just up the road. Meals were all provided by the lady of the house, the elderly but still feisty Bertha who each night, together with her team, cooked us three epic but delicious courses. The camp is run by the inexhaustible local church member Sabine Plazter together with her husband (and Pastor) Helmuth and their three kids. Throughout the week they planned the daily activities which included football games, hefty mountain climbs and chairlift rides. In the evening, Pastor Konrad from Poland ran the proceedings.

This is the second time that I have attended this camp and once more the unity of the Lord’s Spirit was highlighted to me. All of these people come from different walks of life and, more divisively, speak different languages. My Polish is about as good as my Chinese but through common experience and with a lot of gesticulation, we understand each other. We came together nightly and we heard various speakers give testimony to how the Lord has worked in their lives. There are always a few brave people who put their hand up to translate. Also, most songs were sung in three languages (Italian, English and Polish). Good-natured chaos ensued. At the conclusion of every evening, the night owls among us headed up to the local ‘Hof’ for a slice of strudel, ein Kappucino mit Zahne (cream) and a relaxing chat about the day gone as well as the possibilities contained in the future.

Next year, it looks like we might all be making our way to Poland around the same time for a week of Baltic adventures, more inspiration and Beaver Soup. If the passion they put into their singing is anything to go by, it’s going to go off.

—

A team of five saints from London and Australia headed to Malawi. The idea behind the trip was twofold, follow up on the Maize mills project at Lilongwe and Blantyre (Chirimba), and encourage the young peoples groups throughout Malawi.

We arrived at Blantyre in the south of Malawi and worked our way north and east to Lilongwe via Mozambique. The Chirimba assembly in Blantyre was our first opportunity to get together with the Young Peoples leaders and oversight from the surrounding areas and talk about the future leaders in the Church. This was a very fruitful meeting and was an opportunity for our youngies from overseas to share their testimonies and experiences with our African brethren.

This meeting covered cultural situations and paved the way for some ground breaking opportunities that the African Youngies were very excited about and planted a seed that is bearing fruit today in the form of sixty plus baptisms and people receiving the Holy Spirit (speaking in Tongues) due totally from YP’s outreaches.

While at Chirimba we checked out the progress on the new maize mill everything is in readiness for the power to be connected and machinery to be installed all that is needed is for the electricity authority to hook up the power!

From Chirimba we visited Nulanje, Phalombe ,Balaka, Salima-LakeMalawi, Dedza, Lilongwe, M’nthunda, Mozambique, Mkalema.

Two highlights from these destinations were the trip into Mozambique, a supposed fifteen minute trip over the border turned into a two and a half hour jaunt to a village destination that no one had been to before! This trip was in a 14 seater bus designed for highway driving, we had 16 people crammed in on roads that ranged from four wheel drive to goat tracks, exciting was one way to describe this leg of the adventure!

Once we finally arrived at our destination it was well worth the rough roads and bridge crossings the welcome by the Mozambique saints was awesome the singing and involvement of the saints in the meeting was truly inspiring and we left on a spiritual high that we talked about for the rest of the trip. The boarder crossing back into Malawi added to the experience with a certain young man unlikely to take photos of Government building (be they ever so rustic) ever again!

The seventy plus people we witnessed being baptised and spirit filled was probably the high point of the trip and something we will always cherish.

All in all a wonderful trip with great encouragement spiritually for all involved.

—

In God’s plan for mankind is a promise, free from religious practice. It is so simple and powerful you will hardly believe it is true. By getting to know God His way, not only will you inherit everlasting life, but also through His Son Jesus Christ, your life will be amazingly changed with a sign (as evidence) to prove it.

There’s more. Ever wanted to be free from the dependency to drugs, booze and smoking? Would you like to protect your family, or live a life free from fear and be miraculously healed?

All these things and more are stories of spirit filled people in London as well as in Slupsk, Gdansk and Zielona Gora. Want to know more? Then why not come along to our London meeting. You will be warmly welcomed as well as finding answers to these questions.

This could be the brand new start you always dreamed of.

One year ago Pr. Konrad and Lucia moved to Poland from Switzerland, to look after a burgeoning work in Slupsk where they now live. This happy assembly of 12 is growing with testimonies of people filled with the power of God. They always love to see visitors in Poland. Last year Avril, Pr. Chris and Nathan from London and Doerte from Germany visited, all thoroughly enjoyed their time of fellowship.

Short testimonies:

In November 2008, Dagmara joined the Slupsk assembly with healing needs. In her short time there, she is already composing songs, as well as learning to play the piano. Dagmara gives thanks to the Lord for blessing her life. She is making up for lost time, having been Spirit Filled some 10 years ago, but was not encouraged by her church to experience and live the life as God wants for his people.

Pawel and Patrycja live in Zielona Gora, about 400 km from Slupsk. They rejoice in the things of the Lord and have a meeting twice a week. They also dial in using Skype to enjoy and participate in fellowship over the internet, with the assembly in Slupsk.

Recent exiting news: Konrad and Lucia spent New Year in Bolzano, North Italy with Sabine and Pr. Helmuth. Just before that, they witnessed to friends of theirs, Magda and Irek who live near Danzig and asked them to join them on this trip, as Magda has been searching for the truth of God for some time. At an assembly meeting, both Magda and Irek prayed for the Holy Spirit and received instantly and were soon baptised afterwards by Pr. Konrad.

The Lord has also blessed Pr. Konrad and Lucia with work as English teachers, after a year of patiently praying and looking to God to provide for their needs. They are both excited about leading the work in Poland, as well as giving thanks to the Lord for providing them with work.

If you live nearby, why don’t you drop in and visit us at this inaugural day of revival fellowship, we would love to see you. This could be the day that makes a big change in your life forever.

Meetings will be every Sunday from there on at 10am. Put a note in your diary to pop along, where you will be made welcome by Bryan and Tracey, with their young son Jared who are looking after things in Norwich.
